The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) in Mpumalanga is currently viewing the Fernie 2 Local community Hall in Mpuluzi to render services for the community.

SASSA will be rendering services which include new social grant applications, change of payment method, client care enquiries, together with the Social Relief of Distress (SRD) COVID-19 grant enquiries.

In an announcement, the agency mentioned it's alarmed in regards to the higher range of people counting on social grants for survival.
“The purpose on the Integrated Registration Outreach website Programme [ICROP] is to reach-out to some significant quantity of clients/beneficiaries to access SASSA services.

“This really is mainly because of the lack of infrastructure at Fernie and there is no entirely functional office devoted to service the area each day. The assistance point developed for intervention ordeals a higher influx of possible beneficiaries, which makes it difficult for the Workplace to attend to all people who stop by a service point.

“In this reach-out programme, SASSA will mobilise extra methods to permit the servicing of all consumers and boost entry to Social Assistance companies,” the agency said.
